Apprenticeships.
The Shepley Group are proud of the strong apprenticeship programme we operate, developing the next generation and the communities they work in, because our future relies on theirs.
Our philosophy.
Our people are key to success. We aim to invest in and develop top-class talent to meet our customers’ requirements, bridge the skills gap and enable local communities to flourish.
We have a proven history of internal progression, our Managing Director started as a pipefitting apprentice in 1995, and several members of our Board of Directors come from apprentice backgrounds.
We continually develop our employees to enable them to achieve their full potential, and over 10% of our current workforce are in earn-and-learn positions, from school leaver apprenticeships to Masters’ graduates.
Our apprentice roles
With an apprenticeship you get paid while you gain job-specific training and experience. If you’re ready to develop and push yourself further as a high performing person, apply for an apprenticeship and play your part in helping us build a legacy of excellence. You could be the future of Shepley Engineers.

Apprenticeship Intake 2026
Shepley Group has a strong and long-standing commitment to apprenticeships and developing future talent.
Due to current market uncertainty and reduced visibility of near-term workload—particularly within the nuclear sector—we are taking a cautious approach to recruitment this year. As a result, it is unlikely that we will be progressing with a full apprentice intake in 2026.
We remain committed to apprenticeships in the long term and expect to review our position as workload certainty improves.
