To mark Women in Construction Week, this morning our female apprentices joined the Group’s Operations Support Manager Ryan Christie and PPS Electrical Electrician Rochelle Wright for an inspiring conversation about their career journeys and role models, the availability of PPE and female spaces, and the improvements they would like to see within our business and the wider industry.
It was a powerful reminder of the value of creating spaces where women can openly share their experiences, challenges, and ambitions. Our apprentices spoke passionately about what drew them to their roles, the importance of visible female representation, and how small but meaningful shifts can make a significant difference to women entering and staying in the sector.
These conversations reinforce our commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable workplace. Achieving Silver Investors in Diversity accreditation is an important milestone on this journey, recognising the progress we’ve made so far and strengthening our drive to embed inclusive practices across the Group. The insights shared today highlight not only how far the industry has come, but also the work still to do to ensure equality, inclusion, and a true sense of belonging for future generations.
