Shepley Engineers Appoints Trudy Harrison as Head of Business Development

Shepley Engineers is pleased to announce the appointment of Trudy Harrison as Group Head of Business Development, effective 1st September 2025. Trudy brings a distinguished record of public service, having served as Member of Parliament for Copeland from 2017 to 2024, including ministerial roles as Minister of State for Transport and Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Environment.

Her appointment marks a significant step in Shepley’s strategic expansion beyond Cumbria.  As Shepley continues to grow its presence across the UK, Trudy will play a pivotal role in driving business development across nuclear, infrastructure, and restoration sectors.

Trudy’s deep understanding of nuclear policy and her longstanding advocacy for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) make her uniquely suited to this role. During her time in Parliament, she championed SMRs as a key component of Britain’s clean energy future, working closely with industry and government to promote innovation and investment in modular reactor technology.

In her new role, Trudy will lead Shepley Group’s engagement with clients and stakeholders across national programmes, forging new partnerships and unlocking opportunities in regions where Shepley’s engineering expertise can deliver high-impact solutions.

Managing Director Gavin Jakubowski commented:

“Trudy’s appointment reflects our ambition to grow Shepley’s presence across the UK. Her leadership, credibility, and passion will be instrumental in forging new partnerships and driving our business forward.”
