The Shepley Group Strike RoSPA Gold

The Shepley Group are delighted to announce that all three companies have successfully been awarded RoSPA Gold Awards. This now takes our combined total to 61 years of health and safety excellence.

Shepley Engineers have now reached 27 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards, with PPS Electrical achieving 23 years and West Cumberland Engineering extending their consecutive awards to 11.

The RoSPA Awards are one of the most globally prestigious and recognised health and safety schemes in the world, we are extremely proud of our track record, leading the civil engineering industry with the best health, safety and wellbeing standards in our sector.

Group Managing Director, Gavin Jakubowski, says of the awards; “Safety is core to our operations and we are very proud to achieve another trio of Gold RoSPA Awards for the Shepley Group of companies. We are extremely proud of our safety performance and it’s fantastic to see this recognised through these prestigious awards. Our priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and this is not only a reflection of our commitment to maintain and exceed excellent standards in health and safety but also the dedication of our teams in maintaining a positive safety culture across our sites.”

Congratulations go to all of our employees who endlessly contribute to our culture of safety in everything that we do, and our SHE team who work tirelessly to make sure that everybody goes home safe, every day.

Peter Sempie, Group Health and Safety Manager, says “this is a reflection of the Shepley Group’s commitment to working safely and could not be accomplished without involvement from all of our workforce at all levels. We thank all of our staff enormously for their continued hard work and dedication.”

Now into its 67th year, the Awards have almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and a reach of over seven million employees. The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Accidents at work can significantly harm peoples quality of life, this is why good safety performance needs to be recognised and rewarded, and with RoSPA being the longest-running award of its kind in the UK, receiving entries from organisations across the globe, it is one of the most sought-after achievement awards for the health and safety industry.
