Last month, the Shepley Group hired a record number of apprentices in their 2023 Apprenticeship intake, hiring 23 young people across 5 disciplines. This is once again testament to our commitment of developing the next generation and improving the skills of local people.
The apprentices are comprised of electricians, pipefitters, platers, welders and quantity surveyors.
We are delighted to see so many apprentices willing to start their careers with the Shepley Group and are excited to see how the latest intake of apprentices progress professionally, and hopefully follow in the footsteps of a lot of our Senior Management Team who started their own careers as apprentices!
With the addition of the new recruits, the Shepley Group is now comprised of over 80 apprentices, representing 13% of our workforce. As members of the 5% Club, as well as being dedicated to developing the future skills in our local communities, we are extremely proud of our progress to date.
Ryan Christie, a Project Manager with Shepley Engineers who currently manages the mechanical apprenticeship scheme, says of the intake “Shepley Group are pleased to welcome this year’s cohort of apprentices who will undertake their training both at our own facilities as well as that of our chosen training partners. We are incredibly proud of our apprenticeship program and look forward to seeing its newest members develop their skills and knowledge in their chosen field”
