Apprentices Account For 7% of The Shepley Group

National Apprenticeship Week is a time for celebrating the achievements of apprentices and encouraging more budding young adults to jumpstart their career.

The Shepley Group is currently made up of over 650 employees, and following our latest apprentice additions, 7% of our total workforce are apprentices in earn-and-learn positions. This is a major move for us on our mission to develop young adults and enable them to kickstart their career and be involved in projects benefitting their local community.

“Shepley Group businesses are built around our highly skilled workforce, by investing in apprenticeships we can develop the next generation of this workforce that will continue to ensure we remain successful in delivering a high-quality product to our clients,” says Ryan Christie, Project Manager at Shepley Engineers.

“Our apprentices are positioned around the UK on a variety of projects fulfilling many different roles. Some apprentices will undertake the first year of their apprenticeship at one of our chosen training providers but the vast majority of the training is ‘on the job’ ”

We are proud of our apprenticeship programme and the development routes available throughout the Company, with apprenticeships available in welding, plating, pipefitting, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, machining and business administration.
